Canada again expressed its commitment to Marriage Equality on Thursday December 7th, 2006 when it soundly rejected a motion to reopen the marriage debate. Promoters of hatred and inequality were defeated in the 175 to 123 vote. We must continue to fight to stop hatred, but we have the hope and know the Equality is here to stay! |

Tuesday, November 14th, South Africa became the first african nation and fifth nation in the world to legalize same-sex marriages. The law came after a court ruling last year that said not allowing gays to marry violated the post aperthied constituion. After last minute changes, the law passed 230-41. |

"You bet we're intense. It is the fight of our lives." is the slogan on the Garden State Equality website. Yesterdays court ruling didn't stop the fight for equality in New Jersey or America. It has emboldened groups such as Garden State Equality. "Hell no. Over our dead bodies will we settle for less than 100% marriage equality." |

In a closely watch legal battle, the New Jersey Supreme Court ruled today that same-sex couples are entitled the same rights as heterosexuals. However, it left open to the legislature to pass either Civil Unions or Gay Marriage within 180 days. |

Gay Couples in the Czech Republic now receive formal recognition from the Republic after overriding a Presidential Veto in a parliamentary vote. The Parliament voted 101 to 76 in favour of Gay Partnership. |
